ITER Business Forum 2019

IBF/19 conference will include:

    • a plenary session and 12 thematic workshops with presentations given by ITER Organization, Domestic Agencies and their main suppliers
    • in parallel, 1-1 meetings scheduled on line in advance by participants themselves
    • an industrial and R&D exhibition
    • for networking purpose, a welcome reception on 26 March in the evening and a congress dinner on 27 March at the Venue (optional).


Angelantoni Test Tehnologies is proud to participate to ITER , one of the most ambitious energy projects in the world today.

In collaboration with Fusion for Energy, ITER and RFX Consortium we supplied, installed and tested the vacuum system and the gas injection system for the SPIDER experiment. The first SPIDER plasma was produced on the 11/06/2018 in Italy at Consorzio RFX, paving the way for the one that will follow in MITICA, the real-scale ITER neutral beam injector prototype, which will be operational in a couple of years, assembled a few metres away. And MITICA, in turn, would pass the torch to ITER.

ITER project in brief

In southern France, 35 nations are collaborating to build the world's largest tokamak, a magnetic fusion device that has been designed to prove the feasibility of fusion as a large-scale and carbon-free source of energy based on the same principle that powers our Sun and stars. ITER will be the first fusion device to produce net energy and to test the integrated technologies, materials and physics regimes necessary for the commercial production of fusion-based electricity.

Europe, as part of its commitments to the project, is building nearly all of the platform buildings and site infrastructure. Over the next years each building, as it becomes ready for occupation, will be handed over to the ITER Organization for the start of assembly works.

The successful integration and assembly of over one million components (ten million parts) built in the ITER Members' factories around the world and delivered to the ITER site constitutes a tremendous logistics and engineering challenge.

An assembly workforce of approximately 2,000 people will be needed at the height of assembly activities.
The first large components began arriving in 2015. Late in 2018, or early 2019 is expected the first 440-tonne vacuum vessel sector. In November 2017, the ITER Project passed the 50 percent milestone of work scope completed to First Plasma.
