ACS staff with Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry M. Stanley Whittingham, speaker at ABAA Conference in Ulm

The creators of the rechargeable lithium batteries have won the 2019 Nobel Prize in Chemistry and among them is Prof. M. Stanley Whittingham, one of the speakers at the ABAA Conference"Advanced Lithium Batteries for Automobile Applications" in Ulm (6-9/10/2019).

John B Goodenough, M Stanley Whittingham and Akira Yoshino win the prestigious award "for the development of lithium ion batteries", rechargeable, durable and lightweight devices, capable to store energy from renewable sources. These features made them have a strong impact on the world. Their applications range in every technological field, with positive repercussions on the environment and therefore for humanity.

We are thus more than honored to have sponsored this event, and proud that our colleagues have been able to meet Prof. Whittingham and to attend his presentation entitled "What are the ultimate limitations of intercalation-based cathodes for lithium (or sodium) batteries?"
