ACS DM600 C chamber expands corrosion testing capabilities of NOF METAL COATINGS GROUP's European Corrosion Testing Laboratory
NOF METAL COATINGS GROUP formulates, manufactures and markets water-based thin (±10 µm) coatings. These coatings protect and add new functionality to metal parts: anti-corrosion, lubrication, chemical, mechanical or thermal resistance. Historically anchored in the automotive and fastener industries, its coatings are now used in other sectors such as wind energy, rail, solar and construction. The coatings are applied to components by a worldwide network of licensees.
The zinc flake anticorrosion coatings - the core business of NOF METAL COATINGS GROUP - are subjected to rigorous accelerated corrosion tests, carried out in accordance with each manufacturer's specific standards. The French test laboratory, equipped with more than 15 environmental test chambers, already performs the main required tests: PV1210 (VOLKSWAGEN), ACT I (VOLVO, SCANIA), SAE J 2334, GMW 14872 (GENERAL MOTORS).
However, in order to meet the most demanding requirements, NOF METAL COATINGS EUROPE decided to expand its test range by introducing the PV1209 (VOLKSWAGEN) test. This test evaluates corrosion resistance under extreme conditions, with phases at -40°C and +80°C with 80% humidity.
NOF METAL COATINGS EUROPE chose the ACS Discovery My DM600 C (-75/+180°C) in search of a new chamber that would fit perfectly into its fleet. This compact and ergonomic chamber can accommodate small and medium-sized pieces. Its intuitive interface and functional design make it easy for laboratory personnel to use.
The DM600 C also stands out for its versatility and precise temperature and humidity control. Thanks to its wide range of applications, NOF METAL COATINGS EUROPE can also use it for conditioning prior to specific tests, such as:
- at 23°C and 50% humidity for the cyclic corrosion test ACT I STD 423-0014 (VOLVO)
- at 18°C and 30% humidity or 35°C and 85% humidity for measuring the coefficient of friction.
