Leadec in Hoyerswerda: the use of ACS battery test chamber in the field of high-voltage battery repair, a contribution to greater sustainability.
Leadec's Battery Repair Center (BRZ) uses our THERMOSTATIC WALK-IN CHAMBER WZT16 A1 MEDIUM for diagnostics to prepare high-voltage batteries for repair and for quality assurance.
Leadec's Battery Repair Center (BRZ) uses the WZT16 A1 temperature test chamber for diagnostics to prepare high-voltage batteries for repair and for quality assurance. Once the fault has been diagnosed, the battery is opened and the defective components are replaced.
Prior to this, the lithium-ion batteries are cooled for several hours at double-digit minus temperatures. This makes it easier and safer to dismantle the partially glued modules. This is necessary if individual modules or the entire battery housing needs to be replaced.
Cooling the batteries before repair work is carried out at around 20°C can lead to condensation forming. To prevent this risky introduction of moisture, the batteries are “baked out” after the repair. This means that the packs are placed back in the chamber at 20-40°C for several hours.
Leadec also uses the chamber for temperature cycling tests to observe the behavior of the batteries at different temperatures and thus improve the diagnostic and analysis procedures. These tests allow the reciprocal influences of material, battery condition and temperature to be evaluated.
Since 2019, Leadec has established the competence center for new battery-related services in Hoyerswerda. The team takes on the as pre-assembly of battery parts and carries out repairs and disassembly of batteries, including the necessary logistics and storage. Leadec makes a significant contribution to greater sustainability and resource conservation, particularly with its repair work.
